Saudi women participate in organising Umrah during Ramadan

For the first time in the history of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Saudi women have been seen organising the Umrah or small pilgrimage during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Saudi media, female security personnel are participating in organising Umrah at the holy Kaaba. Saudi General Security has published a video on Twitter, showing female security personnel at the holy Kaaba. They can be seen cooperating with other security personnel from the Saudi Ministry of Interior.

According to the Saudi General Security, female security personnel received Umrah pilgrims and managed the crowds of visitors. They worked alongside their male counterparts.

Hanan Mohammed, a female security worker, lauded the efforts of the Saudi Ministry of Interior. She expressed happiness and pride in being able to manage Umrah during the holy month of Ramadan. People also appreciated the efforts and work of the female workers.

Sheikh Dr Abdulrahman Al Sudais, General President of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and Prophet’s Mosque, lauded the leadership efforts of Saudi Arabia. He thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for their support in managing the Umrah season.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Saudi Arabia designated security personnel around the holy sites to manage the crowds performing Umrah. They help to prevent stampedes at the holy sites. According to the Kingdom’s Director of Public Security Lieutenant General Mohammed bin Abdullah al-Bassami, security has planned strategies to control traffic, provide humanitarian services, and train personnel on the ground. Muslims across the world have travelled to the Kingdom to undertake Umrah.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia arrested eight expatriates for promoting fake Umrah campaigns during the holy month of Ramadan. Police officers accused them of copying and printing offices as their headquarters to carry out the fake Umrah campaigns.
