Does Elon Musk sleep with guns next to his bed?

The world’s richest person, Elon Musk, has shared a picture of what he keeps by the side of his bed. However, the picture has raised many questions. Two guns and a Diet Coke could be seen in the picture. Does Musk sleep with guns next to his bed? Many social media users discussed two guns right next to his bed. Many users asked him if he keeps them close to him at night. However, it is not yet clear if the guns are functional or not. A gun was placed in a wooden box with a painting of the American Revolutionary war. While sharing the picture, Musk wrote on Twitter, “There is no excuse for my lack of coasters.” His post came around 2 am local pacific time. A Twitter user reportedly said, “Isn't this a RECKLESS marketing of weapons?” Another user wrote, “Why show weapons? Is it cool? It reminds me of Bolsonaro from Brazil.” On Sunday, Musk officially completed 30 days of acquisition of the social media giant Twitter. On 26 October, Musk completed his $44 billion acquisitio

Report: The Taliban made huge profits from the World Cup in Qatar

The   extremist movement, which controls Afghanistan, leased huge machinery and building materials to contracting companies, which Qatar assigned the task of constructing stadiums and infrastructure to receive the tournament. According to the newspaper, a large number of Taliban officials have received huge financial contributions from the Qatari state as a result of their residence in Doha since 2013 and their involvement in long-term peace negotiations with Washington and the United Nations. Officials invested these contributions by purchasing huge construction machinery, and then leased them to contracting companies in charge of constructing stadiums and rehabilitating infrastructure in Qatar. The report considered that the World Cup was a "golden goose" for Taliban officials, who made millions of dollars in profits. He added, "Some Taliban members owned between 6 and 10 pieces of heavy construction machinery and were earning up to 10,000 pounds (more than $12,000) p

Lack of women’s rights in Qatar means even the privileged like me must do as men say

As people around the world watch videos of men smiling and waving flags outside Doha’s stadiums, they are only seeing one side of the story : what this country is like for a man. In fact, they probably aren’t seeing many women at all. I’m a 23-year-old Qatari woman, and I don’t longingly look out towards the West and think, “I wish I wasn’t so oppressed.” Western experiences aren’t all the same. But since I was a child, I’ve come up against rules and restrictions that limit my freedom. The moment that I realised I was being treated differently from my brothers was when I was three or four, and I came home from a day out with my family. My three brothers went with my  father to the majlis, a room where he would entertain male visitors. I was not allowed in because I was a girl.  Masculinity in Qatar is tied to freedom: the ability to talk to people, to host and entertain. Even now, my younger brothers speak more fluently than I do and have better social skills, because talking to stra

Yemeni Foreign Ministry to Washington. The Houthis must be classified as a terrorist group.

According to the Yemeni News Agency, the talks included a review of the repercussions of the Houthi group's continued attacks on ships, economic and oil installations. The agency added that the two sides discussed the difficulties that impede the peace process after the Houthi escalation "and their threat to international navigation, international security and peace." Bin Mubarak indicated that the government is proceeding with the procedures for implementing its recent decision to  classify the armed group as a "terrorist organization"  , stressing the importance of the international community's support for those decisions. The meeting also dealt with the difficulties that impede the path of peace after the escalation of the terrorist militia and its threat to international navigation and international peace and security, and the dangers of the militia's recent adoption of the so-called "functional code of conduct" that aims to ideologize so

The Muslim Brotherhood vies for influence in the UK and the EU

Islamic radicalism has gained new grounds of late, calling to its ideology new hearts and minds – more often than not within the youth, playing disenfranchisement and identity politics to indoctrinate new demographics, and thus consolidate its thinkers’ bases not only in the UK, but across the EU. Centre-staged to this movement sits the Muslim Brotherhood, an organisation that remains deliberately opaque, and habitually secretive. The institutional complex structure of the Muslim Brotherhood makes it particularly difficult for government to legislate over, never mind counteract at a grassroot level, especially since it acts as an umbrella for various iterations of the radical Islamic thought. A transnational network, with links in the UK, and national organisations in and outside the Islamic world, the group over the decades, and even more so over the past few years has undergone dramatic structural and ideological changes, with various factions within the movement competing for con

Johnny Depp Not Returning As Captain Jack Sparrow In Pirates Of The Caribbean

Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is always in the limelight . Recently, reports have emerged that Depp will be returning as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean. However, another source has claimed that Depp will not be returning to the Pirates franchise. So, is he coming back as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean or not? Reportedly, Depp was fired from the film when his ex-wife Amber Heard accused him of domestic violence. When Depp won the defamation trial earlier this year, things started to become normal for the actor. Many sources claimed that Depp accepted the offer to return as Captain Jack Sparrow. Earlier, The Sun reported that Depp would return as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates Of The Caribbean. A source told The Sun, “Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp is expected to do a test shoot in 2023.” However, DailyMail reported that Depp would not return as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates franchise. Depp has won a Golden Globe A

Itamar Ben-Gvir: Israeli far-right leader set to join new coalition

Israel's far-right Jewish Power party has signed a coalition agreement with Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. Its leader, Itamar Ben-Gvir, is set to become national security minister under the deal. The ultra-nationalist politician is known for his anti-Arab comments and has a past conviction for racism. It comes after Likud and its religious and far-right allies won a majority in an election earlier this month, marking a dramatic comeback for Mr Netanyahu. "We took a big step tonight toward a full coalition agreement, toward forming a fully, fully right-wing government," Mr Ben-Gvir said in a statement after the deal was agreed. Negotiations with other potential coalition partners are continuing. Mr Ben-Gvir is a controversial figure in Israel. He was a follower of the late, explicitly racist, ultra-nationalist Meir Kahane, whose organisation was banned in Israel and designated as a terrorist group by the United States. In the past, he has called for the deportatio

World Cup 2022 armband row: 'Two parallel universes on human rights controversies'

For the advocates, the activists, the European teams and especially the seven captains who had intended to wear the One Love armband, this is an LGBT and human rights issue they want to remain vocal about. For hosts Qatar and those spectators who've come here or who are watching around the Arab world, which has a vast Muslim majority, this is about religion, culture, the norms of the region and mostly about respect which they don't feel they're getting. The tension seems to be the perpetual undercurrent of the tournament so far and it's all playing out here on the world's biggest of stages. On Wednesday, Germany  players covered their mouths  during the team photograph before their World Cup opener against Japan, with manager Hansi Flick saying it was "to convey the message that Fifa is silencing" teams. However, the reaction to Germany's stance has had fierce and almost unanimously negative reactions around the Arab world. The hashtag Germany-Japan

Jerusalem bombings: Teenager killed in rare twin attacks at bus stops

The explosions happened at two busy areas on the outskirts of the city as people were heading to work. Israeli media said the teenager who died was an Israeli Canadian religious student named Aryeh Shtsupak. Israel's internal security minister said at one scene that this was "an attack we haven't seen in a long time". The atmosphere in the city feels volatile in a year of intensifying violence: Palestinian gun and knife attacks have targeted Israelis, and Israeli military raids have killed Palestinian gunmen and civilians in the occupied West Bank. A return to the use of explosives in Jerusalem makes it one of the most significant attacks of its kind in years. No group has so far said it was behind the blasts. However, the Palestinian militant groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad both praised the perpetrators of what they referred to as the "operation". The first explosion happened in Givat Shaul, close to the main entrance to Jerusalem, just after 07:00 (05:00

FIFA World Cup 2022: Saudi Arabia defeats Argentina in Group C opener

After falling behind early in its Group C opener against Argentina, one of the favourites to win the FIFA World Cup 2022, Saudi Arabia stunned Lionel Messi and company on Tuesday at the Lusail Iconic Stadium . Argentina, led by Messi, got things going early in the first half with a goal, living up to their reputation as the undisputed favourites at the World Cup in Qatar. In the 10th minute, Messi, who was in charge of directing Argentina's attack in the tournament's opening match, converted a penalty to give his team a 1-0 lead. After finishing the first half ahead of Saudi Arabia, Messi and co. were predicted to win the game at the Lusail Iconic Stadium. But things quickly turned around for Argentina as the Messi-led squad was stunned by a brilliant equaliser from relative outsiders Saudi Arabia.   Saleh Al-Shehri was able to give Saudi Arabia the lead in the 2022 World Cup in the 48th minute of play. A few minutes later, Saudi Arabia's Salem Al-Dawsari scored the s

Turkey strikes in Syria, Iraq a week after Istanbul bombing

Turkey launched deadly airstrikes over northern regions of Syria and Iraq, the Turkish Defense Ministry said Sunday, targeting Kurdish groups that Ankara holds responsible for last week’s bomb attack in Istanbul. Warplanes attacked bases of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, and the Syrian People’s Protection Units, or YPG, the ministry said in a statement, which was accompanied by images of F-16 jets taking off and footage of a strike from an aerial drone. The ministry cited Turkey’s right to self defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter in launching an operation it called Claw-Sword late Saturday. It said it was targeting areas “used as a base by terrorists in their attacks on our country.” Syrian Kurdish officials have alleged civilian deaths from the air attacks. The airstrikes came after a bomb rocked a bustling avenue in the heart of Istanbul on Nov. 13, killing six people and wounding over 80 others. Turkish authorities blamed the attack on the P

At missile test, Kim Jong Un publicly reveals daughter for first time

The world was first introduced to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's daughter on Saturday in arresting images of the two inspecting the launch of the nation's biggest ballistic missile the day before. State news agency KCNA stated on Saturday that North Korea tested a Hwasong-17 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on Friday. The biggest shock, though, was the presence of Kim's daughter, whose existence had never before been made known to the general public. The girl, who can be seen in photos holding hands with her father and wearing a white puffy coat as they observe the enormous missile, was unidentified by KCNA. Kim Jong Un's daughter was present at this event for the first time, according to Michael Madden, a North Korea leadership expert at the Stimson Center in the United States. It is extremely significant and shows that Kim Jong Un is at least somewhat at ease for him to bring her out in public in this way. According to specialists, Kim might b

US Recommend: Saudi Crown Prince Immune From Jamal Khashoggi Murder Case

According to court records, the US administration proposed on Thursday that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman be exempt from prosecution for the 2018 murder of a dissident journalist. In late September, Prince Mohammed was appointed prime minister by royal proclamation, prompting speculation that he was attempting to avoid scrutiny in cases brought before foreign courts, including a civil lawsuit brought in the US by Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of murdered columnist Jamal Khashoggi. A Saudi insider-turned-critic named Jamal Khashoggi was killed in the kingdom's Istanbul consulate four years ago, briefly making Prince Mohammed, sometimes known as MBS, a pariah in the West   His attorneys have in the past claimed that because he "sits at the top of Saudi Arabia's government," he is entitled to the same level of immunity that US courts grant foreign heads of state and other high-ranking officials. If the US administration decided to express an opinion at al

Turkey detains suspect linked to Istanbul bombing in Syria

Turkish security forces have detained a suspect wanted in connection with   the deadly bombing in Istanbul   in an operation in a Turkish-controlled area in northwestern Syria, Turkey’s state-run news agency reported. Other suspects detained following the bombing  will appear before court officials on Thursday to face possible charges or be released from custody. The suspect, identified by his code-name “Husam” was apprehended by Turkish police late Wednesday in the Syrian city of Azaz, which is currently under the control of the Turkey-backed Syrian opposition, the Anadolu Agency reported. He was being taken to Istanbul for questioning. His detention raised the number of suspects under custody in connection with the bombing to 51. Sunday’s explosion targeted Istanbul’s bustling Istiklal Avenue — a popular thoroughfare lined with shops and restaurants — and left six people dead, including two children. Seven dozen others were wounded in the attack that came as a stark reminder of bo

Iran says many French intelligence agents arrested during protests

The Interior Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ahmad Vahidi, said that many French intelligence agents were arrested during protests in the country. Vahidi told state TV on Wednesday, “People of other nationalities were arrested during the protests, some of whom played a big role. There were elements from the French intelligence agency and they will be dealt with by law.” Last week, France’s Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna said that seven French nationals were detained in the Islamic Republic. Iranian authorities have repeatedly accused foreign enemies, especially the United States of fomenting unrest in the Islamic Republic after the death of a 22-year-old Iranian Kurdish woman, Mahsa Amini, in police custody. Amini was arrested by the Iranian morality police in Tehran on September 13 for allegedly flouting the Islamic Republic's strict dress code for women. They took her to the detention centre. Amini collapsed on the ground at the centre. Later on, she was
