  Yemenis have been posting on the social media site using the Arabic-language “Yemeni identity” hashtag. The posts consist of pictures of Yemeni women in colorful traditional clothing and are in response to the strict dress code imposed on parts of Yemen controlled by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels. The Iran-backed Houthis took power in 2014 and have recently tightened dress code rules for women in Yemen, Al-Araby and Arab News reported.  Women in Houthi areas must wear a long, black, loose-fitting “abaya” that covers them from head to toe. Few users addressed the restriction of the colored abaya directly. Twitter user @tasabihalh0rimy wrote on Saturday, “This is our identity.     Intense armed confrontation renewed on Tuesday between Yemeni government forces and the Houthi rebels in the southwestern province of Taiz, a military official told Xinhua. "The Houthis launched a large attack against the government-controlled sites in the eastern part of Taiz, sparking heavy fighting in the area," the local military source said on condition of anonymity. However, the government forces backed by local tribal fighters managed to repulse the Houthi attack following hours of heavy fighting, he added. Medical sources confirmed to Xinhua that the fresh fighting left at least five people killed and several others injured from both warring sides in Taiz.     Yemen's Houthi militia on Sunday accused the Saudi-led coalition of launching five drone strikes on the Yemeni Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, Houthi-controlled Saba website reported. The attacks were among "97 coalition breaches of the truce in the city committed by the coalition forces on Sunday, including heavy flying of reconnaissance drones on Hays district in the southern part of the city," it added. The Saudi-led coalition and the Yemeni government have yet to comment. Hodeidah has witnessed a shaky cease-fire between the Yemeni government forces and the Houthi militia since they reached a UN-sponsored truce in Stockholm in December 2018.     A tightening of restrictions on women in Yemen by the Houthi rebels – echoing religious regimes in Iran and Afghanistan – is dashing the hopes of those who dream to continue their lives elsewhere.  The Iran-backed Houthis, who have controlled swathes of the Arab world’s poorest country since  seizing the Yemeni capital Sanaa  in 2014, have increasingly enforced travel restrictions on women over the past eight months, according to residents and activists.   In a move to minimize presence of terrorism in the Arab nations, the United States has declared Yemen based Houthis as terrorist group. The Yemeni government has welcomed the decision saying that the Houthis ‘deserved to be classified as terrorists’. With only 10 days remaining for Joe Biden to take over the White House, the Trump administration decided to declare the Houthi militia, who have been spreading violence and torturing the Yemenis for more than six years, as a foreign terrorist organization.
