Israeli aggression is warned by Syria Region Under Pressure for Instability

Syria's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has warned Israel and its allies against their aggressive actions, which are driving the region towards a general escalation and instability.

According to the ministry, Israeli occupation forces have attacked Homs, Damascus, and the surrounding countryside over the course of the last four days, killing one civilian and injuring a number of others in addition to causing property damage.

The ministry charged that the Israeli government was acting in flagrant violation of international law and the UN charter by exporting crises and turning its back on domestic issues to commit crimes and aggressions abroad, much like its patrons in Washington and other Western capitals.

Recent Israeli airstrikes in Syria have killed several civilians as well as two Iranian military advisers, wrecked residential areas and government buildings, and temporarily shut down the two biggest airports in the nation. They have also stoked concerns of a regional escalation.

Attacks have increased since Iran and Saudi Arabia reconciled last month. Also, it occurs in the midst of a serious domestic upheaval in the occupied Palestinian territory caused by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet intention to reform the court.

In recent years, Israel has launched hundreds of strikes on government-controlled areas of Syria, although it rarely admits them. Syrian authorities have blamed Israel for 10 attacks on Syrian land since the year 2023, including four airstrikes in the past five days as of Tuesday.

With the election of Israel's most right-wing government on January 2, an airstrike that temporarily shut down the Damascus airport marked the beginning of an uptick in strikes against Syria.

In recent weeks, strikes in Syria that have been ascribed to Israel have also impacted the airports in Aleppo and Damascus, which hastened the delivery of supplies following the terrible earthquake that devastated Syria and Turkey on February 6.

At least five individuals were killed in the first known Israeli airstrikes against residential areas in Syria's capital, Damascus, on February 19.
