  At least 43 migrants and refugees are feared to have drowned while 84 were rescued after a shipwreck off Tunisia’s coast. This boat sailed from Zuwarah on Libya’s northwest coast, carrying migrants and refugees from Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea and Bangladesh. These migrants were trying to cross the Mediterranean to reach Italy. This desperate attempt was made since the asylum seekers were struggling for interpreters at the USEU border. Though the Libyan navy acknowledges the dangerous chase of the migrant boat, still many drowned in the sea.   Migrants who were headed for Europe travelled off the coast of Libya through to the Mediterranean Sea drowned midway. As per latest reports, 43 migrants have drowned with the boat that capsized on Wednesday. The United Nations migration agency confirmed the news saying that the ship indeed overturned on January 20. The international agency said that the ‘tragic’ incident was the first maritime disaster of 2021 that involved migrants, those seeking better lives in Europe. Last year, many such incidents occurred where those seeking to go to Europe and start their new lives in the continent away by an ocean from a distance, lost their lives. The European Union has stepped up and partnered with Libya’s coast guard and their local groups to stem the sea crossing.   The United States is yet to announce its President ahead of the official number being released, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has extended support to whichever candidate wins the elections. Two of the Turkish officials on Friday confirmed that despite Erdogan’s friendship with the current president Donald Trump, they will extend their cooperation in working with whoever is elected. “Regardless of which candidate takes office in the US, we will pursue a sincere approach to improve our relations,” Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said.   There have been a few changes in the relationship between the NATO allies--Turkey and the US.   France and Egypt are making efforts to settle things in crisis struck Libya by coming up with newer ways to solve the things in the country. On October 13, according to a statement announced by the french ambassador to Egypt, it was revealed that the two countries--Egypt and France, will be coordinating on efforts to make this work in Libya.   Syrian President Bashar al-Assad accused the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of instigating the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the Caucasus. Interviewed by the Russia's RIA news agency, Bashar al-Assad said that Erdogan and his Defense Minister Hulusi Akar are deploying Syrian militants in Azerbaijan, confirming the accusations recently moved to Ankara by French president Emmanuel Macron.
