  United Nations and Sudanese officials said that the conflict in Sudan has descended into a “full-blown catastrophe” and people are facing a humanitarian disaster. On Monday, UN and Sudan's officials warned that the conflict between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary group the Rapid Support Forces can lead to a humanitarian crisis. Officials from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs of the United Nations said that a third of the population in Sudan needs urgent assistance. Reportedly, 3.7 million, mainly from Darfur province, have been displaced from their homes because of the conflict that began on April 15 between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary group the Rapid Support Forces.
