Kuwait Unveils Fedha, An AI-Generated News Presenter

A virtual news presenter named "Fedha" was introduced by Kuwait News, a website, utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). On April 9, Fedha made her public debut on Kuwait News' Twitter page.

She is dressed in a black jacket and a white T-shirt and has what appears to be blonde hair and light eyes. Fedha's name, which means silver, inspired the use of silver and metallic hues in her design.

Fedha uses AI and is Kuwait's first virtual newscaster. She asked people on Twitter what type of news they prefer in her Arabic introduction.

The diversity of Kuwait's population, which comprises both nationals and foreigners, is reflected in Fedha's appearance.

According to Abdullah Bofatin, the deputy editor-in-chief of Kuwait News, the development of Fedha is a "test" of AI's capability to provide fresh and inventive material. Fedha might in the future deliver news updates on Kuwait News' 1.2 million-follower Twitter feed.

AI is a field of technology that can think and act like people do. It is utilized in a variety of applications, including self-driving cars, virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa, and even in medicine to aid in the diagnosis of ailments. Fedha's creation as a virtual news anchor is just one illustration of how AI might be applied to journalism.

Fedha's debut demonstrates how technology is transforming how we consume news and information. Future human newscasters may be replaced by virtual ones like Fedha, which could have an effect on the labor market.

However, it is important to notice that, for the time being, AI cannot replace human intelligence and creativity. But the perception towards AI & humans is changing rapidly day by day
