West Bank footage throws spotlight on Israel's use of lethal force

Israeli troops had entered the village warning of plans to demolish a Palestinian home. Footage shows a group of men and teenagers throwing rocks - then pulling back - as two shots ring out. Raed al-Naasan runs around a corner and collapses, blood seeping into his top, fatally wounded. He was killed on Tuesday - one of four Palestinians shot dead by Israeli troops during confrontations in different villages that day in the occupied West Bank. And now that footage of his killing is throwing a fresh spotlight on Israel's use of lethal force, as violence in the region reaches levels unmatched in years. In the hours after his death the army said soldiers used live ammunition in response to a suspect "spotted hurling Molotov cocktails [petrol bombs]" at them.  But video evidence and eyewitnesses suggest this wasn't the case when he was struck.  This year in the West Bank more than 140 Palestinians have been killed, nearly all by Israeli forces. The dead include civilian...

Itamar Ben-Gvir: Israeli far-right leader set to join new coalition

Israel's far-right Jewish Power party has signed a coalition agreement with Benjamin Netanyahu's Likud party. Its leader, Itamar Ben-Gvir, is set to become national security minister under the deal. The ultra-nationalist politician is known for his anti-Arab comments and has a past conviction for racism. It comes after Likud and its religious and far-right allies won a majority in an election earlier this month, marking a dramatic comeback for Mr Netanyahu. "We took a big step tonight toward a full coalition agreement, toward forming a fully, fully right-wing government," Mr Ben-Gvir said in a statement after the deal was agreed. Negotiations with other potential coalition partners are continuing. Mr Ben-Gvir is a controversial figure in Israel. He was a follower of the late, explicitly racist, ultra-nationalist Meir Kahane, whose organisation was banned in Israel and designated as a terrorist group by the United States. In the past, he has called for the deportatio...

“The Lingering Questions that Needs to be Answered”

I want to share something interesting about what I read today. It’s about late Israeli land seizures in the Jordan Valley region reserved for a Palestinian air terminal, and the refusal to permit Palestinians to work in the Tayseer region, close to the West Bank city of Jenin, are only two late instances of Israeli endeavors to upset Palestinian endeavors.   Looking at it, President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris will almost certainly give the Israeli executive a warm gathering in Washington. The central issues are: Will US-Israeli relations be based on genuineness and certifiable help for harmony in the Middle East? Or on the other hand, will the Israelis keep on pulling off rough occupation and illicit settlement?

“Israel has a New Responsibilityto Make Amidst Pandemic ”

Here’s something interesting about what I read today, this pandemic, Israel should eliminate its long-standing, clearing limitations on the development of individuals and products, subject just to proportionate security checks. There is uphold for facilitating measures among the Israeli safeguard foundation, just as in the southern line networks, which perceive that financial distress in Gaza is counterproductive for Israel's security.   So far as Israel forces versatility limitations and the occupation proceeds, and without admittance to characteristic assets, Palestine's economy will keep on discharging. Gifts from the global local area can just at any point be a tourniquet. The global local area should hold onto the second to challenge Israel on its approach of dispensing hurt on the Palestinian economy as a weapon of war.
