Climate, Israel, and Palestine!

The region of  Palestinian territories and Israel are among the most sensitive places on the planet in terms of climate too. Instead of addressing the challenges of global warming, Netanyahu's government seeks and is working to garner support in this area.

Before the time of the industrial revolution, the temperature of the world is increasing by an average of 1.1 degrees Celsius but in the region of Isreal and nearby the average increment in temperature is 1.5 degrees Celcius from 1970 to 2017.  Now the Israeli Meteorological Service is predicting this increase will be noted by 4 degrees Celcius by the end of the century. Some regional news from the EVS ministry of Isreal is saying that the temp will increase by a meter by the end of 2050. Haaretz newspaper also indicates the upcoming tragedy in the area of shores. The Gaza Patti is also in danger.

Another problem of the region is the power imbalance!

The region is already feared for desertification and the least rainfall and now climate change would light a climate movement. But it was clear that climate change was not an issue for politics, In the Isreal presidential election it never played an important role, instead, the pre-ideologies are on the ground of Isreal. The conservative mindset and government are ruling in this region.

The power fight between Jewish and Israelis. But when news of climate change and the coming red signals abound, those who are left-wing in nature of politics are fearing Palestinian that climate changes can impact relations to normalize relations before the climate crisis hits the ground. It is a situation that Majdalani of Ecopeace has often faced in her activism. "It's a broad sense that 'we don't cooperate with the occupier, this is not the right political environment.

United Nations 2021 climate talks in Glasgow the world leaders talked about the decarbonization programs but with the Ukraine-Russian war they all forget it, it is the same with Isreal and Philistine. Both regions are only focusing on land -war politics-power but lacking in climate.

So in these contrasting political environments between Israel and Palestine, progress on a two-state is effectively stalled under a far-right government that opposes any attempt to create a viable Palestinian state.

Palestinians are saying that if Israel continues to try to occupy Palestine, the people of Palestine will never think that in the next 30 years, the climate will be the problem of the Palestinian territories, it will be the problem of Israel.

Though many organizations are trying like One Climate, they are suffering to promote climate justice in between political fights. Influential Israeli climate spokespeople fear that working with the Palestinians will alienate Israel's growing Jewish religious right.

So in the end, the climate is suffering!

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees." Gore then not
