More than 7 youths killed in Mogadishu blast

Saturday, November 28, 2020. A powerful explosion took place in Mogadishu last night, especially on the road between the airport and the KM4 junction. The blast reportedly took place in the Gelato Divino area, a restaurant opposite the Sahal Terminal.

Various reports have emerged of the blast, with a man wearing a suicide vest blew himself up at the restaurant. The scene of the blast is a crowded area, as well as near the first airport security checkpoint.

Seven people, all teenagers, have been confirmed dead.
The dead included journalists and prominent youths in the city, and a number of others were injured in the blast. There were also numerous injuries and extensive damage at the scene of the blast.

A man wearing a suicide vest blew himself up outside a restaurant where many young people were sitting. Witnesses said the bomber was on foot and detonated himself outside the restaurant.

The government has not yet commented on the blast, and there has been an increase in attacks on nightclubs and government officials. It also appears that the government is unwilling to address the growing insecurity. The Farmajo government, which has been in power for four years, has failed to save Somali youth who are being massacred on a daily basis.

The blast came as Acting Secretary of Defense Christopher Miller paid a surprise visit to Somalia. A spokesman for the Pentagon said that Miller was in town on holiday thanks to the message about 650-800 troops and US forces are there to help the police.

On the other hand, a landmine blast rocked the fish market in Mogadishu's Abdiaziz district this morning, targeting a vehicle carrying the Mogadishu Port Manager. Reports say the blast injured two bodyguards of Mogadishu Port Manager  Mr. Ahmed.

This kind of behavior is not only unacceptable but also undermines efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. Attacks on religious minorities are a direct attack on religious freedom and must be condemned by all. The Israeli authorities must take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them accountable for their actions. It is also important to ensure the safety and protection of religious minorities and their places of worship, as guaranteed by international law. this incident is a sad reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region and the need for a comprehensive and just solution. It is up to all of us to work together to promote understanding, tolerance, and respect for different beliefs and cultures, and to build a brighter and more peaceful future for all.
