DENI ‘rejects Ethiopia’s plan to support Farmaajo.

Monday, 09 November, 2020. Puntland State President Said Abdullahi Deni has reportedly rejected a plan presented by Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed during a recent visit to the Ethiopian capital.

Abbiy Ahmed called on the President of Puntland to support and be a major part of the campaign for the re-election of President Farmajo. Deni, one of Farmajo's main rivals in the regional states presidents, opposed the plan, and rejected the offer.

The President last week traveled to Addis Ababa in Ethiopia on Tuesday with Abiy Ahmed, who spoke about the election and the agreement reached last month, as well as rebuffed the offer.  Rashid Abdi, a Kenyan resident and commentator on the Horn of Africa politics, in a statement posted on his twitter to express the disapproval of Deni, saying "President Deni had rejected Abiye Ahmed's proposal to support Farmajo".

Rashid also said in a statement that the UAE government, which was surprised by Abiy's burden, had sent a private plane, as it was strongly opposed to President Farmajo. The role of foreign powers in Somalia's elections is evident, with some seeking support for Farmajo, who has failed to establish a formal government in the country that guarantees the safety of its citizens for the last four years.

The United Arab Emirates, meanwhile, were shocked by the pressure on Puntland to support Farmajo's re-election. "Prime Minister Abiye Ahmed called Deni in Addis Ababa last week and made it clear, 'We want you to support Farmajo.' Deni refused, and a private plane from the UAE took him to Abu Dhabi," he said in a statement.

Abbiy Ahmed has a close friendship with Farmajo and is widely understood to be keen on his return, at a time when he is facing stiff competition from prominent politicians and former allies.

However, it appears that Farmajo has lost faith in regional leaders for fear of losing his seat in the next election. Farmajo is using foreign governments, national assets and groups loyal to him to return to power. It turns out that Farmajo has lost hope in a fair election and therefore wants to interfere in the electoral process.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees." Gore then not

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Sudan have a long-standing history of bilateral relations.

Over the years, the UAE has been a strong supporter of Sudan's development and prosperity. As Sudan faces challenging times, it is important that this support continues. The UAE has been a key player in Sudan's development, particularly in the areas of infrastructure, health, education, and renewable energy.
