Doha to house the Red Cross's headquarters

The International Committee of the Red Cross and Qatar inked a contract on Thursday to establish the organization's headquarters in Doha, according to Qatar News Agency.

Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi, the minister of state for foreign affairs for Qatar, and Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, the head of the ICRC, both signed the contract.

The ICRC's headquarters in Doha will try to increase international coordination, encourage cooperation between the two parties in a range of humanitarian endeavours, and start projects that will help them accomplish their shared objectives.
