Changes in Syria, Palestine Have Impact on Countries in the Region: Hezbollah

Nasrallah reaffirmed that the developments in Palestine have an impact on the Lebanese people in many different ways in a televised speech that was broadcast on Friday.

Every event in Palestine has an impact on our nation, its sovereignty, and its future, he declared.

"Consider the possibility that a powerful Israel may impose its will across the entire region. Could the Lebanese have imagined gas and oil? Nasrallah threw in.

"Talking about the current and future of Syria is like talking about the present and future of Lebanon," stated the well-known Lebanese figure Nasrallah.

He claimed that Lebanon would have been damaged if the Takfiri terrorist group Daesh (ISIL or ISIS), which had conquered vast tracts of land in Syria and Iraq from 2014 to 2017, had persisted in the area.

What would have happened to Lebanon and its people if Daesh, al-Nusra, and other terrorist groups had gained control of Syria? Nasrallah enquired about the Lebanese.

The head of Hezbollah continued by denying recent claims circulating in diplomatic circles regarding escalating dissension within the resistance front. Syria won't "leave the Axis of Resistance" in order to "enter the Arab fold," he said, denying the rumour. The Axis of Resistance is centred on Syria.

In other parts of his remarks, Nasrallah hailed an unexpected agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia to mend bilateral ties that had been severed in 2016 and said it may open up new vistas for the region as a whole, including Lebanon. The arrangement was mediated by China.

The reconciliation between Iran and Saudi Arabia announced earlier in the day, according to him, is a "positive development" that won't harm the people of the area.

The resistance, Yemen, and Syria won't suffer as a result of an Iranian-Saudi reconciliation, he added.

It's a significant development, he continued, and if it follows its natural course, it may expand possibilities throughout the area, including in Lebanon.

Seven years after their diplomatic ties were suspended over a number of concerns, Iran and Saudi Arabia finally reached an agreement on Friday following several days of intense negotiations held in China.

Nasrallah stated that selecting a candidate for election is the "natural and lawful" duty of any political organization in response to Hezbollah's recent nomination of Suleiman Franjieh as the party's candidate for the presidential campaign.

No one has the right to forbid anyone from proposing a candidate because we have asked for discourse over the presidency, according to Nasrallah.

No party or individual has the authority to force their candidate on the Lebanese people, the head of Hezbollah continued.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees." Gore then not

Saudi Arabia can import halal Kobe beef from Japan

Japan is now the third nation authorized to export beef to the Muslim world, along with Saudi Arabia.
