Qatar under scanner after Washington Examiner expose`, America discreetly moves up its investigation

After a massive Washington Examiner expose about Qatar terror funding, America has chosen to stand still and did not refute the claims of Qatar funding the Iranian Revolutionary Guards with the state department earlier launching an inquiry into an Israeli government report revealing details about the funding activity.

Iranian Revolutionary Guards are classified as a terrorist organization operating in the Middle East region and despite the United States revealing the threats that the organization possesses in the country, the emir of Qatar has chosen to completely dismiss the commands and continued to fund the terror group.

The state department had asserted that it is looking into the report and carrying out research about the allegations. On one hand, the US considers Qatar to be one of its allies but Qatar has been taking advantage of the trust of the United States and using it to its convenience to spread hatred and violence in the region.

But this time America seems to be taking the matter seriously as it did not refute any of the claims made in the report nor did it dismiss the matter of Qatar’s involvement in terror funding. Doha always had a very suspicious relationship with Iran. Iranian leadership time and again visited Doha for regional discussions and Doha used them to the best of its capacity for regional dominance.

The two countries are more close than most foriegn bodies imagine. Iran is well aware of Qatar’s wealth and hence is partial towards it to maintain good ties and their relationship, over the years, transcended to more than diplomatic ties. With the change in leadership in Iran, the country is now turning towards Qatar more confidently.

Unlike what was imagined when Joe Biden took the leadership of the US in his hand, Iran and America's relationship did not improve an inch. The two nations are still far from coming into terms of the normalcy of relations and now with the American side announcing about the sanctions it will further be imposing on the Arab country diminishes the slightest possibility of a repair between the two.

Earlier there were reports that suggested that the US is planning to impose sanctions against Iran’s capabilities for precision strikes using drones and guided missiles. This move will end all hopes of Iran to use its weaponry to make damages on a large scale, said an US official.

The move has come after many western countries described how these weapons are a danger to the region and to the world and it is best for powerful bodies to impose sanctions on Iran against using these weapons or technologies capable of carrying any destruction. "It’s part of a comprehensive approach so we’re dealing with all aspects of the Iranian threat," a senior U.S. official said while talking about the matter.

It is to be noted that the US official nowhere mentioned Qatar but the statements given by the top diplomat and the links that were revealed in the past are linking the situation to Qatar’s royal family.

They are using resources available to Iran to spread terrorism in the country and through investigation in the matter, the monetary transactions or funding activities can easily be found to have linked to the Qatari royal family.

Till now, America was of the view to ease things between Iran and itself but after the several reports in the media revealed Qatar funding for IRG, things quickly changed. It is not surprising that just after a week of Washington Examiner revealed funding details of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards, the US is opting for serious measures and is dealing with the issue in the most discreet manner possible.
