Sunday, 20, Sept 2020. Turkey and Iran are preparing to play
a political, military and ideological role in Africa. Although Iran and Turkey
have differing views of the region, they now appear to be close friends and
allies to play an important economic,
political and mostly military role in Africa. Iran is striving to become
the most powerful state in the Middle East in terms of military, science and technology. Turkey, which is
currently expanding its presence in the Middle East and Africa, appears to be
playing a key role in establishing military bases in Africa and becoming the
most influential country in the Indian Ocean and East Africa in particular. Turkey has a large presence in Somalia and has
military bases in many parts of Africa.
The friendship between Iran and Turkey appears to be a
military one and they are taking part in the revolt in the Red Sea and the
coasts of North Africa. As countries in the Horn of Africa next to the middle East,
it is possible that East Africa is the best place for military bases to attack Iran’s
Gulf rivals.
Turkey is focusing on North and East Africa, and wants to
expand its vision and capabilities. Libya, his North Africa's only target, Turkey
deployed troops and warships to take advantage of a weak UN-backed government.
His battle is against forces loyal to general
Haftar, but the main purpose is to make the political role of the North
Africa and Mediterranean sea. All of
Turkey's activities in Africa are seen as fueling conflict in many parts of
Africa, such as Libya.
Iran and Turkey, close friends, continue their efforts to
play a significant military and economic role in Africa. Sources said Iran
supported the rebel forces of aggression in Central African Republic. Iran’s
Islamic Guards Qudus forces played an important role in cultivating terrorist
cells. They have operated, funded and trained proxy groups.
Meanwhile, Qatar, which has been accused of having links to
terrorists fighting in East Africa, particularly Somalia, is trying to
establish ties with West Africa to play a role in the conflict.
Iran's and Turkey's efforts to gain a foothold in developing
Africa are being driven by their desire to have military bases and ideologues
on the continent. China and the United States play a major role in Africa's
politics and the economy. China is the Africa's largest government in terms of implementing
heavy projects such as mining, road and bridge construction, water supply and
export projecting of China production to
Africa.
Iran, a Shiite state, has repeatedly tried to launch
religious projects in East Africa, particularly in Somalia and Ethiopia. There
are Shiite-funded religious groups in the region that spread Shiite ideology in
East Africa. Not only that, but Iran is supplying weapons to the Yemeni Houthis
and religious groups fighting in Somalia. Its main objective is to find
like-minded people in the future so that it will be easier for it to integrate
into Africa economically and militarily.
Richard Palmar mentioned his article ”there is, almost
literally, a smoking gun. In September 2011, the Nigerian military captured
weapons and ammunition from al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM). It included
ammunition that Conflict Armament Research identified as originating in Iran.
In May 2012, the Nigerians intercepted a shipment of weapons that also
contained Iranian-manufactured ammunition. ”
