America has never been so isolated: Iran

Iran expressed its happiness on the United States being rejected by the United Security Council vote for continuing with its sanction on Iran. The US tried to extend an arms embargo on Iran but a common consensus was against this idea.

On August 14, the US received an overwhelming defeat in a 15-member council at the UN where Dominican Republic became the only country to have come in support of it while Russia and China stairway rejected the appeal and eight others abstained their voting rights. Giving his statement on this incident, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi tweeted that this is the first time in 75 years that the United States has been so isolated. Now President Hassan Rouhani  also expressed his pleasure on the country's coming in support of Iran after the US tried extending the embargo after the 2015 nuclear deal.

The United States had withdrawn form the accords in 2018 and went ahead with imposing sanction on Iran unilaterally. Iran retaliated this move by increasing its nuclear activities over last year. The deal that was stamped in 2015 was called the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, under which all the countries listed on the documents abide by the call.

Rouhani called out the Trump government for having asked to extend the embargo saying that this will be a punishment for those who abided by the deal. "They have not only pulled out of the JCPOA but also punished whoever has abided by it."

Helga Schmid, who chaired the meeting, assured that the countries were united to resolve to preserve the nuclear agreement no matter what. He further said that it is par America’s capacity to launch the process to reimpose sanctions on Iran using a Security Council word which they have already abandoned. Following this, Iran allowed the UN to inspect two sites which were suspected of having nuclear activities in 2000’s.

Iran’s president further extended his happiness on ‘victory of Tehran’ and ‘disgraceful failure’ for Washington by saying that the current security council president, Abdou Abarry of Niger, has assured Iran that the US cannot reimpose international sanctions all alone.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees." Gore then not

Syria's alleged drug traffickers are warned via SMS messaging

Text messages advising against engaging in the illegal trade have started to arrive for drug traffickers working along Jordan's southern border with Syria. Nine days had passed after a smuggler had been murdered in a strange airstrike in southern Syria when the alerts were sent. “We recognize you. Your every step is being observed.” According to a claimed transcript of the texts made available by the Suwayda24 network of citizen journalists in southern Syria, "Your meetings are being watched." Jordan is looking to work with Damascus to stop the flow of narcotics because it serves as a major conduit for what Arab authorities characterize as a multibillion-dollar trade in the amphetamine known as Captagon. The 360-kilometer border between Jordan and Syria is regularly used to smuggle captagon tablets, and the trade has been expanding since 2018. The majority of the southern region of Syria was retaken by the Syrian military from rebels backed by Arab and western
