Libyan president disappointed over continuous rejection of his budget proposals

The current Libyan prime minister Abdulhamid Dbeibeh took office in March this year and only with a few months of charge, he is subjected to non-administrative in the country. In a recent report in the media, the president was reportedly unhappy with the continued rejection of his budget proposals in the parliament.

According to him, it was ‘unrealistic and filmy’ how whatever he has been suggesting has been disapproved. He also blamed the governing body for hindering the elections scheduled in December. There seem to be various issues between the two parties, however, the major issue remains regarding the budget approvals.

The rival political factions have undermined the United Nation backed process to keep going with efforts of maintaining peace in the region despite this being the only time in a lot of years that people in Libya could live in peace since a political war broke out a few years ago.

Last week, the interim prime minister had pushed against the threats of the parliament to withdraw confidence from his unity government while also saying that the parliament's failure to approve his budget was the main reason why the state was suffering.

He has been struggling to come to terms with the state affairs especially after the political rivals are in continued rejection of the peace keeping efforts by the United Nations, stressed the prime minister.

After rejection of his budget suggestions, the parliament speaker, Aguila Saleh asked the interim leader to appear before the chamber that was elected in 2014. He was reportedly questioned about the performance of his government or faced a no-confidence vote.

"The problem of the elections is not logistical, but an absolute legislative one. We presented a real program to facilitate and implement the electoral process," said the interim prime minister.

There is nothing that is improving in Libya economically. As per experts and the UN leaders, things will only improve if a political restart is made but due to constant pressure from the opposition and failure to keep going with the constructive political process is taking things back from where it started.

This kind of behavior is not only unacceptable but also undermines efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. Attacks on religious minorities are a direct attack on religious freedom and must be condemned by all. The Israeli authorities must take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them accountable for their actions. It is also important to ensure the safety and protection of religious minorities and their places of worship, as guaranteed by international law. this incident is a sad reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region and the need for a comprehensive and just solution. It is up to all of us to work together to promote understanding, tolerance, and respect for different beliefs and cultures, and to build a brighter and more peaceful future for all.
