Saudi Arabia relief agency continues humanitarian work in Yemen

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s (KSRelief) humanitarian activities continue in Yemen. KSRelief’s mobile clinics attended around 1,012 individuals with various health conditions and provided 506 patients with medications in the Hajjah governorate in the conflict-ridden country.

KSRelief also provided medical care to 9,849 patients in the Al-Khawkhah district of the Al-Hodeidah governorate. Around 3,508 of them were also given medications.

KSRelief’s activities in Yemen are conducted through 724 projects involving food security, health, humanitarian and emergency relief coordination and water, sanitation and hygiene.

KSRelief, along with the Arsal Medical Center in Lebanon’s Baalbek governorate, also provided medical services to 7,947 Syrian refugees in August.

Last month, KSRelief also provided urgent aid to Yemenis in the flood-hit Al-Mahra Governorate. The agency distributed at least 50 tents and 50 shelter bags to 300 people in Yemen.

In July, 3,606 people in Yemen received medical services by KSrelief in the Hiran District in the Hajjah Governorate.

KSrelief regularly provides its humanitarian assistance to Yemen. The country also performed surgeries to separate conjoined twins from Yemen in recent months. In July, the agency performed a surgery to separate Yemeni conjoined twins from the Aden governorate. In May, doctors in Saudi Arabia separated conjoined twins from Yemen.

In 2018, KSrelief also launched the Masam Project in order to protect civilians in Yemen and safeguard the delivery of urgent humanitarian supplies to Yemenis.

In July this year, mines planted by the Houthi militants across Yemen were dismantled by KSrelief's Masam project. They removed 1,538  mines, including 54 anti-tank mines and 86 non-explosive ammunition in the Aden governorate. They also removed 266 anti-tank mines and 294 non-explosive ammunition from the Marib district in Yemen.

The Houthi militants have clashed with Yemen's government for more than a decade, causing a terrible humanitarian crisis in the country.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees."
