Iran executes a Swedish-Iranian connected to a 25-person assault

According to the court, Iran killed Swedish-born dissident Habib Chaab on Saturday for "terrorism". The judiciary's Mizan Online website stated that Habib Chaab, also known as Habib Asyud, the leader of the terrorist organization Harakat Al-Nidal, has been put to death this morning, on Saturday.

Notably, Chaab was arrested and detained in Iran in October 2020 after going missing while visiting Turkiye and being tried in Tehran. He was given the death penalty on December 6 after being found guilty of "corruption on earth" for leading a rebel organization.

Moreover, the decision has been criticized by Stockholm as "inhumane."

Mizan Online claims that Chaab was the leader of Harakat Al-Nidal, also known as the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz, which Iran labels a "terrorist group" and accuses of planning assaults in southwest Khuzestan.

Furthermore, a sizable Arab minority resides in the oil-rich region, and its residents have long grumbled about marginalization.

Chaab has been charged by Iranian officials with orchestrating strikes since 2005 "under the protection of two spy services, including the Mossad and Sapo" – Israeli and Swedish intelligence organizations, respectively.

Other Harakat Al-Nidal officials, according to the prosecution, are stationed in Denmark, the Netherlands, and Sweden, and Saudi Arabia provides the organization with financial and logistical assistance.

According to rights organizations like Amnesty International, Iran kills more people each year than any other country outside China.

According to the judiciary, three dual citizens, including Chaab, have been given death sentences or carried out as a result of security-related offenses since the year's beginning.

Former Iranian official Alireza Akbari, a British citizen who had been found guilty of espionage, was put to death in January.

German-Iranian Jamshid Sharmahd, 67, was sentenced to death in April for his involvement in a fatal mosque explosion in 2008. The death sentence was affirmed by Iran's Supreme Court.

Iran is presently holding at least 16 Western passport holders, the majority of them are dual nationals. Tehran maintains that everyone has through a fair legal procedure.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees."
