Bahrain hopes to increase the number of Japanese visitors

Japan, the third-largest economy in the world, is being courted as a major tourism destination by Bahrain's Tourism and Exhibitions Authority.

Dr. Nasser Qaedi, CEO of the BETA, met with top Japanese officials from the tourist, hospitality, entertainment, commerce, and industrial sectors several times as part of an official visit to Tokyo to examine ways to improve bilateral collaboration.

To discuss ways to increase the number of Japanese visitors to Bahrain by twofold, Qaedi met with the head of the Japan National Tourism Organization, executive executives at the Japan Tourism Agency, travel agency representatives, Japanese manufacturers, and hospitality specialists.

In addition, Qaedi discussed the prospect of investing in Bahrain and building new locations with well-known Japanese restaurant owners and hotel managers in that country.

Agreements for unique travel packages and alliances with regional airlines were the main topics of conversation with travel professionals.

In order to assure their participation in forthcoming events and exhibits in Bahrain, Qaedi also visited with Japanese jewelry groups and firms.

According to him, Bahrain's 2022–2026 strategy aims to improve tourism's GDP contribution and draw more visitors from across the world, particularly from east Asia.

Qaedi praised the growth of the Japanese tourist sector, praising its rich history and wealth of attractions that have made it a leader in Asia
