Uber, a ride-hailing company, has collaborated with WhatsApp Inc to help users book a ride on this platform. This feature is available in the Indian states of Delhi-NCR and Lucknow.

According to Meta-owned WhatsApp, people in Delhi-NCR and Lucknow regions can book a uber ride through WhatsApp without even downloading the app. This feature is available in English and Hindi languages.

This feature was started in August 2022 to address users’ problems associated with downloading the Uber application and switching between different apps on smartphones. It allows users to manage their rides and receive receipts on WhatsApp.

How to book an Uber ride on WhatsApp

1.      Save the official Uber number +91 7292000002 on your smartphone

2.      Now, open WhatsApp on your device

3.      Search Uber on WhatsApp

4.      Start a chat with the Uber chatbot

5.      Send Hi to the Uber chatbot

6.      Send your pick-up and drop location details on the Uber chat box

7.      You can also share the live location on the Uber number

8.      Uber driver will share the expected fare and ride details with you

9.      You need to confirm the fair and ride details with the Uber driver

10.  Wait for confirmation from the driver

11.  Once the Uber driver accepts the ride, you will get a confirmation through a notification

In the future, this service can be available in other cities. WhatsApp is currently working on a new update and the new feature is expected to arrive soon. 

People will be able to send pictures, videos, and texts to recipients with the option of ‘view once’. Under the new view-once feature on WhatsApp, no screenshots of texts, forwarding or copying of the content would be allowed to the receiver.

WhatsApp frequently rolls out new features for iOS and Android devices in order to keep their data safe and secure. The new features are available in the updated version of the app.
