64 Ukrainians and a US citizen have reportedly been released as part of a prisoner exchange with Russia: Kyiv

In its most recent prisoner exchange with Russian forces, Ukraine claimed on Wednesday that it had managed to win the release of 64 Ukrainian military personnel as well as a US citizen.

Andriy Yermak, the chief of staff for the Ukrainian presidency, posted on social media that "64 servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who battled in Donetsk and Lugansk — in particular participated in the defence of the city of Bakhmut — are heading home."

Additionally, Suedi Murekezi, a US citizen who aided our people, may have been let free.

Russian government-run According to the TASS news agency, Murekezi was detained in June in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk and accused of participating in anti-Russian demonstrations and inciting "ethnic hate."

Murekezi was born in Rwanda and immigrated to the US with his family in 1994, according to TASS, citing his lawyer. The attorney denied that his client was a combatant and stated that Murekezi worked in a nightclub in Kherson City.

Kherson city was taken by Russian soldiers shortly after their invasion of Ukraine in February, but Ukrainian forces retook it this October. Since then, it has frequently experienced Russian shelling.

According to Ukrainian sources, the area around Donetsk, where Russian forces have been attempting to seize Bakhmut for months, has seen the most fighting since Kherson was recaptured.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees."
