Elon Musk starts poll on whether he should quit as Twitter CEO


 Elon Musk, Tesla and Twitter CEO (Chief Executive Officer), is making headlines by launching new polls on Twitter. Recently, he started a poll on Twitter, asking millions of users, "Should I step down as head of Twitter?" In his latest tweet, he has also pledged that he will abide by the result of the poll.

He also posted another tweet as a warning. He wrote on Twitter, "As the saying goes, be careful what you wish, as you might get it." Musk has repeatedly said that he did not want to serve as CEO of Twitter. He also said he would find someone else to appoint him/her as the new CEO of the social media company.

Ever since Musk took over Twitter, he has come under heavy criticism for several changes he introduced to the social media platform. Apologising to users, he wrote on Twitter, "Going forward, there will be a vote for major policy changes. My apologies.”

Recently, he made headlines for suspending the Twitter accounts of many prominent journalists. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that he was 'very disturbed' by Musk's decision to ban Twitter accounts of journalists, including CNN and The Washington Post journalists. Their accounts were restored after severe backlash from various prominent people.

Recently, another change was introduced to the social media company. Twitter has said that users will not be allowed to link to social media and other platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Mastodon. Twitter announced it would ban accounts used to promote other accounts on the micro-blogging site. However, Twitter received intense backlash from social media users.

Recently, Musk sold 22 million shares of Tesla, worth around $3.6 billion. He also lost his position as the world's richest person to Bernard Arnault. According to Bloomberg, Musk’s net worth is now $174 billion.
