Chris Sioufi

EY Law (includes subsidiary HVG Law) is one of the largest law firms in the world, employing more than 3,500 legal professionals including 2,400 attorneys across 90+ countries.

EY Law first debuted in the Middle East in 2019 and has since expanded to a team of 12 experts. Chris Sioufi, who formerly served as a partner and regional co-managing partner of the firm's Middle East practice, has taken over as the organization's new leader.

Sioufi has over 25 years of experience as a corporate and finance attorney. He has advised both public and private clients and works on a broad variety of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, leveraged acquisitions, collective investment schemes, structured financing, and Islamic finance issues.

Sioufi worked as the general counsel and chief compliance officer for an Islamic investment bank in Bahrain before joining Dechert, a law firm with its headquarters in the US. Prior to joining Dechert, he was a partner at two other international law companies and a Canadian law firm.

Dubai-based Sioufi has garnered numerous awards for his work throughout the course of his career, including inclusion in Chambers' Global 2022.

"I am happy to be managing EY's legal practice in the MENA region and to be joining EY. Working closely with the EY Law worldwide offering for clients from all around the world, I look forward to assisting the service's expansion into a regional powerhouse across key jurisdictions.

Multidisciplinary practices are used by EY Law. The division provides stand-alone work to corporate legal counsel and collaborates with EY teams on projects that need for legal know-how, like corporate advising, transaction services, or restructuring.

One of the main drivers behind Sioufi's decision was this integrated offer. We can provide customers with innovative and collaborative strategies that deliver long-term value thanks to EY's breadth of disruptive solutions and capacity to collaborate across business lines.

"We are seeing organizations adapt their business models to include more integrated strategies amongst internal operations, providing a seamless approach to doing business," Ahmed Al-Esry, EY's MENA Tax Leader, continued. EY's multimodal regional law solution offers clients a convenient one-stop shop that will help them bridge the gap between business advisers and legal advice at a reasonable price.

Here’s something good that I want to share with what I read today. It’s about  how Iraq utilizes a decentralized arrangement of administration, the Gulf countries and their organizations can investigate such financial possibilities with different individual Iraqi governorates, directed by the national government. This can likewise make a sound rivalry among Iraqi governorates to offer better costs and more good arrangements with Gulf organizations, as the two sides advantage. For me, Iraq needs huge monetary and monetary support. Monetary guide bundles can just reduce some tension on the present moment. Aside from Iran, there is insignificant territorial interest in Iraq's private area. Tehran's interest in Iraq has not given remarkable monetary advantages, for the most part because of authorizations. Inlet countries ought to investigate Iraq as a feasible competitor for their business ventures, and they can even use Jordan as a middle person to shape a solid financial ternio...

P erhaps the main issue ought to be to build up an instrument between willing companions of Afghanistan for standard coordination and counsel, and to send the Afghan individuals a message of consolation and fortitude. The coordination of compassionate help is likewise earnest and could be done by the gathering. It is likely too soon for most nations to take a reasonable political situation on the circumstance, which might entangle their work with some Afghan groups, however a call ought to go out to all Afghan gatherings to take part in arrangements toward a political arrangement. It ought to be underlined by the gathering that the global local area is prepared to draw in with all Afghan groups to work with the conveyance of help, yet in addition to keep the country from indeed turning into a shelter for fear based oppressors.
