US-led International Coalition is set to establish a new military base near the Turkish-Syrian border

According to the Arab News, the US-led International Coalition is set to establish a new military base along the Turkish-Syrian boundary to eradicate the rest of the remaining terror groups. The military main base will be situated in the Ain Dewar zone of Syria's northeastern territory of Hasakah.

As indicated by the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), a military convoy of more than 50 trucks and military vehicles affiliated to the International Coalition were noticed crossing into north-eastern Syria from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

"Trucks carrying weapons, armored vehicles, military, and other logistic equipment, entered through Al-Walid crossing with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, going towards Al-Qamishli zone," the Observatory detailed as reported by the Arab News

As per the Asharq Al-Awsat reports, the SOHR activists also confirmed on February 8, that a new International Coalition convoy, comprising of 45 military vehicles and trucks, entered the Syrian domain through the Al-Walid line crossing with the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The US had declared the development of an expansion of the global alliance to fight Daesh in September 2014. Moreover, Turkey started participating in the coalition the next year by opening its southern Incirlik airbase to alliance powers.

According to the Arab News, Nicholas Heras, director of government relations at the Washington-based Institute for the Study of War, stated that the site of the new army base at Ain Dewar was a sensible move if the US proposes to have a long term presence in upper east Syria.

Heras told the Arab News, "The base would be situated close to the main section point into northeast Syria from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which is the place where the vast majority of the territory lines of resupply and fortification for the counter-Daesh campaign penetrate Syria."

Heras likewise mentioned that the Ain Dewar base was intended to help an important mission to counter-terrorism campaign against Daesh in northeastern Syria.

Al Gore has history of climate predictions, statements proven false

Noted climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore, who made headlines this week after he claimed   global warming was "boiling the oceans,"   has a history of making climate-related proclamations later proven to be false. During remarks made Wednesday at the  World Economic Forum summit  in Davos, Switzerland, Gore warned that continued carbon emissions into the atmosphere would destroy the planet and lead to widespread calamities. "We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into it every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth," Gore said. "That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees." Syria's alleged drug traffickers are warned via SMS messaging

Text messages advising against engaging in the illegal trade have started to arrive for drug traffickers working along Jordan's southern border with Syria. Nine days had passed after a smuggler had been murdered in a strange airstrike in southern Syria when the alerts were sent. “We recognize you. Your every step is being observed.” According to a claimed transcript of the texts made available by the Suwayda24 network of citizen journalists in southern Syria, "Your meetings are being watched." Jordan is looking to work with Damascus to stop the flow of narcotics because it serves as a major conduit for what Arab authorities characterize as a multibillion-dollar trade in the amphetamine known as Captagon. The 360-kilometer border between Jordan and Syria is regularly used to smuggle captagon tablets, and the trade has been expanding since 2018. The majority of the southern region of Syria was retaken by the Syrian military from rebels backed by Arab and western
