Palestine urges UNSC

Palestine urged UNSC (United Nations Security Council) to take practical steps against Israeli apartheid against Palestinians.
Palestine's Ambassador to the United Nations Riyad Mansour has slammed the Israeli apartheid against his fellow countrymen. He called on the Security Council to take practical steps to stop the crime against Palestinians.

An UNSC meeting on the Middle East peace process took place on Wednesday. At the meeting, he described how the rights of Palestinians have been denied for 75 years by the Tel Aviv regime.

He also wore a mask printed with the phrase “End Apartheid.” Reportedly, he complained that Palestinians are uprooted from their homes, displaced, and unable to return. Earlier, Israeli settlers uprooted dozens of olive trees in several West Bank cities.

The ambassador also cited examples of “settler colonialism” to talk about Israeli apartheid. He said that the Palestinians see their houses demolished as Israeli settlements expand in the occupied lands.  He said that they took their land and properties. He called on Security Council to take necessary measures to stop crimes against Palestinian people in Jerusalem.

He also accused the Tel Aviv regime’s authorities of withholding hundreds of bodies of Palestinian victims. He also said that the regime has designated human rights defenders in the occupied Palestinian territories as terrorists. He added, “Apartheid is real.” Mansour said that Israel does not give "right" to security to Palestinians.

His remarks came weeks after Amnesty International issued a 280-page report charging Israel with the crime of apartheid. Earlier, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry held the Israeli government directly responsible for the Jewish settlers’ practices in the West Bank. It also criticised the Israeli government’s policy. The  Palestinian Foreign Ministry also expressed its grief over the United States and the international community’s silence on the violations and crimes against Palestinian people by Israel.

Israeli settlers have once again attacked religious minorities in the region, this time targeting a church in East Jerusalem.

According to reports, the settlers assaulted clerics and worshippers at the Church of the Sepulchre of Saint Charbel, causing damage to the property and injuring several people. This kind of behavior is not only unacceptable but also undermines efforts to promote peace and stability in the region. Attacks on religious minorities are a direct attack on religious freedom and must be condemned by all. The Israeli authorities must take swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and hold them accountable for their actions. It is also important to ensure the safety and protection of religious minorities and their places of worship, as guaranteed by international law. this incident is a sad reminder of the ongoing conflict in the region and the need for a comprehensive and just solution. It is up to all of us to work together to promote understanding, tolerance, and respect for different beliefs and cultures, and to build a brighter and more peaceful future for all.

Following the murder of three Kurds in what is being considered to be a probable racist incident , there have been widespread protests in Paris. The fact that the authorities did not view the attack at a Kurdish centre as a terrorist act has enraged the Kurdish diaspora in Paris. All of the dead were Kurdish community members who passed away both inside and outside the cultural centre. Agit Polat, a spokesman for the Kurdish centre, charged that French officials "yet again failed to safeguard us... This is a terrorist attack in our eyes, according to the AFP news agency. In the afternoon, a number of protestors, largely from the Kurdish diaspora, got into a fight with the police outside the centre and in the streets close by, throwing rocks and torching trash cans.
