Suspicion about Afghan evacuee having links with ISIS, Daesh grow in Qatar

Qatar has been excelling in turning things in its favor for years. Despite the certain thing  possessing a threat in the region, Qatar remains adamant about having to fetch out benefits from a particular resource and exploit it to the maximum and it has become even more evident in the last few days.

Seeking shelter, many Afghan refugees flew to Qatar and plan to stay there till some other permanent arrangements are not made. In the name of giving them facilities, Qatar merely gave them a tent, where hundreds of people were asked to use one washroom. Not only does this highlight human rights violations in the country but also the inhumane approach Qatar is capable of taking against people.

Even now, when reports about some of the Afghan evacuees having link with terror bodies like ISIS and Daesh came into the picture, one would assume that Qatar will take some calls keeping the safety of the region in mind but on the contrary, the country is focused towards finding ways to take the benefit from the issue.

As per reports spread in the international media, American security officials have found that some of the Afghans who were evacuated from Kabul Airport after the Taliban takeover have potential ties with ISIS. One of the officials on ground talked to a media outlet called Defense one and confirmed that security screeners at Al Udeid Air Base have found at least one person to have links with the terror group.

On the same issue, another official commented that out of the 7,000 refugees, nearly 100 have been flagged for their links with dangerous outlets. Their thorough screening is being done at the base as these Afghan refugees may be potential matches to intelligence agencies.

But one thing that has irked regional experts in the issue is that when Qatar has such a strong defense system as well as spending capacity, why did it not notice or recheck the backgrounds of these Afghans prior to the screening procedure. Like the US official said, if they indeed have connection with ISIS then was Qatar waiting for something to happen on its soil or was it just being ignorant toward the possibility?

The answer to this would be--neither of them. Qatar is not a new player to let such an important step like security check miss out from its hand and not have a background check of each of the Afghan refugees on its land. There are possibilities that the Qatari officials were well informed about the informant and were looking for an opportunity to use them in its favor.

The plan was to send these suspicious people to Doha along with other civilians and use them to dominate the Afghan scene in all its divisions. It is no more hidden that Qatar has its connections with many terror groups and not just this, it also provides them a safe haven in the country.

Now it wants to utilize this situation to its benefit and gain the most crucial information at its disposal. As soon as the American officials were informed about the situation, they rushed down to Qatar to take charge and quickly detained 100 Daesh linked refugees. If it was in the hands of the Qatari authorities, they would have used these people to its benefits and even have provided them with a shelter in the country

Agit Polat, a spokesman for the Kurdish centre, charged that French officials "yet again failed to safeguard us... This is a terrorist attack in our eyes, according to the AFP news agency. In the afternoon, a number of protestors, largely from the Kurdish diaspora, got into a fight with the police outside the centre and in the streets close by, throwing rocks and torching trash cans.
